The new breed of journalist is in the forefront of efforts to improve local news coverage, and help to mitigate the threat to the democratic process. Our goal is to secure unprecedented resources to build on proven strategies, while removing long-standing inequities in journalistic coverage and practice.

Students and recent graduates presented the Austin Harvest produce market at its permanent location earlier this week. The market brings artwork and a sense of community in an area once known for its gun violence. The WBEZ's Jackie Kostek visited to speak to the founders of the market who outlined their purpose as more than serving food, but as creating an environment that is more welcoming as one of their goals.
